Role Description
At Capita, we’re looking for compassionate and detail-oriented professionals to join our Health Assessment Advisory Service (HAAS) as Functional Specialists. In this role, you’ll use your clinical knowledge to carry out functional assessments and compile evidence-based reports that help the Northern Ireland Department for Communities (NIDfC) make informed decisions about benefit claims.

Conduct telephone functional assessments of individuals with disabilities or health conditions.

Compile clear, concise and factual medical reports - no treatment or diagnosis required.

Collaborate with Regional Managers and administrators to meet service level agreements.

Use IT systems to support clinical decision-making and report writing.

Embrace ongoing feedback and professional development.
Qualifications

Evidence of recent benefit-related assessment activity within the last three months.

DfC / DWP Approval as a WCA Assessor.

One year's post-registration experience as a nurse (RMN, RNLD, RGN), occupational therapist, physiotherapist, paramedic or doctor.

Fully registered with a relevant UK regulatory body (NMC, HCPC, GMC), without restriction or conditions and with a valid PIN.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and report-writing skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

A professional, adaptable, and team-oriented mindset.

Willingness to undergo BPSS security clearance.
Requirements

Successful candidates will be required to successfully complete government baseline personnel security standard vetting.

A competitive basic starting salary of £40,500 - £46,000 depending on experience plus bonus scheme subject to quality and performance.
