Role Description
As the PROMOTIONS SPECIALIST, you will be responsible for the strategic planning, execution and analysis of promotions. The Promotions Specialist serves as a liaison between Marketing and Operations, translating the creative vision for promotions into actionable implementation within the systemβs framework.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage the generation and maintenance of the overall promotions plan in concert with the Marketing teams, including ongoing planning and communication during bi-weekly meetings. Promotions may include:

Retail terminal-based offers.

Retail terminal-based discounts.
-
Social media giveaways.
-
Second chance scratch ticket promotions.
-
Prize offers related to research surveys.
-
Coupons.
-
Targeted email offers.
-
Execute promotions in a timely fashion, including:
-
Writing official promotion rules in coordination with stakeholders.
-
Writing system-based promotion requests to enact a promotion in coordination with Operations and stakeholders.

Monitoring promotion entries.
-
Contacting promotion winners.
-
Sending out promotion prizes and winner letters.

Coordinate retail point-of-sale materials in support of promotions by communicating needs and deadlines among Marketing team stakeholders including staff, advertising agency staff, and the Sales Manager.

Support field marketing events and sales events as needed, including:

Celebrating prize winners.
-
Supporting presence at the State Fair.

Retail store grand openings.
-
Work with Business Analyst to monitor and analyze market characteristics and trends, becoming familiar with market research and customer preferences.

Support sales teams in developing new promotional opportunities with new and existing retailers.

Deliver analysis, plans and suggestions in a clear and actionable format for insights, including informal discussions and presentations at quarterly sales and marketing meetings.

Coordinate content upload for point-of-sale digital retail displays used for advertising messages, jackpot information, and public service announcements, including:

Planning new shows and releases as needs arise.

Coordinating with Operations stakeholders to plan timing for loading, testing and releasing a new show.

Communicating deadlines and needs with advertising agency for timely delivery of digital assets.
-
Determining needs and requesting promotional materials in concert with the promotion plan, managing inventory levels as needed.
Qualifications

3-5 years of marketing, advertising, retail merchandising or project management experience.

Bachelorβs in marketing, advertising, business administration, or related field.

Equivalent experience managing a retail business, servicing retail sales accounts, or marketing products to retail accounts, including advertising, marketing communications, product research, or promotion may also be considered.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience developing strategies utilizing data insights.
-
Strong ability to manage timelines and details of multiple simultaneous projects.

Proficient in Office 365 products.
-
Some in-state travel required β approximately 5%.
