Role Description

The Manager – Marketing & Business Development is responsible for executing the company's proposal strategy to drive new business and maintain existing clients in Canada. This includes:

• Managing the proposal process
• Overseeing a team of proposal professionals
• Ensuring brand consistency
• Enabling Development Leaders to pursue business development initiatives
• Executing on the client account program

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• 10+ years of previous marketing experience in environmental consulting, mining, or relevant industry
• Proven track record in leading complex proposal development efforts
• Familiarity with CRM/ERP systems
• Demonstrated ability to align business development strategies with corporate objectives
• Manage large-scale projects and influence senior leadership
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
• Outstanding communication skills
• Ability to foster collaboration across different business units

Requirements

• Manage and guide a team of Business Line Specialists and Proposal Coordinators
• Lead pursuit strategy, including pre-positioning and capture planning
• Manage end-to-end proposal development
• Establish proposal strategies, themes, and win messaging
• Ensure proposal compliance and quality
• Coordinate technical teams, proposal staff, and subconsultants
• Oversee resource allocation and organizational performance
• Oversee development and maintenance of marketing collateral
• Oversee conference management and preparation
• Coordinate with graphic design for marketing document templates
• Collaborate with Development Leaders using data and analytics
• Develop dashboards and provide regular reporting on BD/marketing metrics
• Mentor team members and manage staff performance

Benefits

• Salary range: $90,000 - $150,000 a year
