[Hiring] Commercial Counsel @Cast AI

Role Description

Cast AI is moving from a single-product Kubernetes company to a multi-product platform, with different customer profiles, billing models, and economics across the suite. This role is at a genuine inflection point, instrumental in shaping Cast AI’s contracting process and the business itself.

• Own Cast AI's commercial contracting relationship end to end.
• Negotiate new-logo agreements alongside sales and renewals alongside customer success.
• Draft, review, and negotiate NDAs, vendor agreements, reseller/partnership agreements, and independent contractor agreements.
• Lead the effort to revamp and standardize Cast AI's contracting processes.
• Draft, review, and negotiate customer agreements including SLAs, EULAs, and subscription contracts.
• Advise on compliance with data protection laws such as GDPR and CCPA, and on intellectual property matters.
• Assist with corporate governance and compliance matters, developing legal policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with external counsel on disputes and litigation related to commercial agreements.
• Work across nearly every function at some point in the deal cycle.
• Day-one supervisory responsibility for Cast AI's part-time APAC legal resource.

Qualifications

• A Juris Doctor from an accredited law school, and active bar membership in good standing in a relevant state.
• Proven experience in tech transactions, in both a law firm and in-house setting.
• A track record negotiating SaaS or commercial agreements, NDAs, customer agreements, SLAs, EULAs, subscription contracts, vendor agreements, and reseller agreements.
• Strong knowledge of contract law, data privacy law (GDPR, CCPA, and similar), and intellectual property law.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
• High ethical standards, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Location: Based in the United States, Eastern or Central time zone preferred.
