Role Description

Rausch Sturm LLP is seeking an individual with between one and five years’ experience to fill the Associate Attorney position for our Wyoming or Montana practice. This individual will handle all aspects of litigation and should welcome the challenges of a dynamic legal environment and be open to some work-related travel.

Qualified candidates must be energetic, self-directed, and capable of managing their own caseload. Responsibilities will include:

• Review of correspondence and files to determine suit appropriateness.
• Review of answers, preparation of discovery and disposition motions, and all aspects of preparing for and conducting trials.
• Represent clients in pre-judgment and post-judgment matters.
• Attend court hearings.
• Provide analysis and advice on legal and regulatory risks.
• Familiarity with state and federal consumer laws and keeping abreast of changes in state or local rules.
• Ability to effectively manage their own caseload.

Qualifications

• Background in civil litigation and experience attending court proceedings.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws.
• Ability to analyze case law and provide recommendations.
• Experience in collection law and/or significant courtroom experience is preferred.
• Maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public.
• Ability to draft legal pleadings, motions, discovery, stipulations, etc.
• Ability to write, review, and edit reports, opinions, correspondence, articles, and other documents.
• Knowledge in Bankruptcy Law, Foreclosure Law, or the FDCPA/FCRA/TCPA is a plus.

Requirements

• Licensed to practice law in Wyoming or Montana with the ability to obtain additional licenses.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and organize high volumes of information.
• Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Frequently required to talk or hear, and use hands to type, handle, or touch objects.
• May be required to stand and walk, and may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders.
• Must be able to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds at times.

Work Environment

The position is remote and can be based anywhere in the United States.

Schedule

8am to 5pm Monday through Friday with flexibility to meet business needs.

$75,000 to $80,000 per year
