Role Description
The Associate Attorney (North Carolina) at RAS LaVrar is a pivotal member of our rapidly expanding creditors’ rights practice, focused on the efficient and compliant resolution of high-volume legal files. This role is responsible for the end-to-end management of cases, from the initial review of conditions precedent to the execution of contested trials and discovery. The position requires a candidate who can balance meticulous attention to detail with the speed necessary for a high-volume environment, ensuring that all legal strategies align with both client expectations and strict regulatory standards.
Responsibilities and Duties:

Litigation & Case Management

Assist with managing the firm’s North Carolina legal practice.

Represent the firm’s interests by handling court hearings throughout the state of North Carolina.

Handle contested legal issues, including the drafting and oversight of discovery and representation of clients during trials.

Monitor file progress and develop effective strategies to bring cases to resolution efficiently while maintaining high-quality work products.

Draft and review pleadings, motions, and professional correspondence to initiate and advance legal actions.

Compliance & Document Review

Perform comprehensive audits of all conditions precedent to filing, notices, demand letters, and supporting documentation.

Ensure all actions remain in strict compliance with local, state, and federal collections requirements, as applicable.

Maintain and update internal systems with real-time findings, documentation, and strategic recommendations to ensure firm-wide transparency.

Professionalism & Collaboration

Exercise a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism when interacting with the judiciary, opposing counsel, and financial institution clients.

Work independently while maintaining strong interpersonal communication to ensure internal systems reflect accurate case statuses.
Qualifications

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Active Bar membership in North Carolina is strictly required.

1–3 years of legal experience is preferred; prior experience in legal collections, foreclosure, or creditors’ rights is preferred.

We are looking to hire a candidate who lives in Charlotte or the surrounding area.

Additional compensation and special consideration will be given to candidates licensed to practice law, or who become licensed in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Virginia, and/or Pennsylvania.
