Role Description

The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS) is a dynamic state agency responsible for delivering a wide range of services to Georgia's most vulnerable populations. The Systems Support Technician will report to the Ga-Gateway and RACF (Resource Access Control Facility) Security Manager. Responsibilities of this position include:

• Provisioning, managing, and troubleshooting user access for the systems, applications, and databases controlled by the Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS), Office of Information Technology (OIT).
• Working across multiple platforms, including the Agency’s mainframe applications & data using RACF and other mainframe tools, plus critical applications hosted on Unix/Linux and Microsoft Windows operating environments.
• Conducting root-cause analysis, corrective action, and user help-desk support.
• Creating RACF IDs for all DHS Mainframe users.
• Provisioning, resetting passwords, and troubleshooting issues for multiple key systems for the State of Georgia agencies.
• Conducting periodic re-certification of all users for various systems.
• Identifying and removing inactive users periodically.
• Enforcing and communicating system users the security policies and guidelines necessary to meet state and federal requirements for system access.
• Assisting with the state and federal audit processes.
• Creating and running queries to produce ad-hoc reports from application data as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED AND one (1) year of experience, which includes report writing and data collection, tabulation, computation, and analysis.

Requirements

• Associates degree (preferred).
• RACF experience (preferred).
• 3 years of experience in help desk support for end users (preferred).
• 3 years of experience in computer systems, internet security, and data privacy experience (preferred).
• Proven ability to deliver great customer service experience with strong interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable communicating in person and via phone/email with peers, management, contractors, and vendors.
