Role Description

We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented HR Coordinator for a temporary remote assignment supporting employee onboarding, employment verification, background screening, and workers’ compensation tracking. Working knowledge of Paylocity is required.

• Coordinate employee onboarding, including new-hire paperwork, required forms, and orientation scheduling.
• Review onboarding documents for completeness and follow up on missing information.
• Support Form I-9 completion, verification, and reverification following company procedures.
• Process E-Verify cases and track required follow-up.
• Coordinate background checks, monitor screening status, and communicate pending items.
• Create and update employee profiles and onboarding records in Paylocity.
• Maintain accurate, organized electronic personnel files.
• Track workers’ compensation claims, injury reports, and supporting documentation.
• Follow up with employees, supervisors, and insurance representatives regarding claim updates.
• Track employee work restrictions and return-to-work status.
• Maintain HR spreadsheets and reports, monitor deadlines, and communicate outstanding items.
• Respond to employee questions and refer matters to the appropriate department.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in HR coordination or HR administrative support.
• Hands-on experience with I-9 verification, E-Verify, background screening, and employee onboarding.
• Experience tracking workers’ compensation claims and documentation.
• Working knowledge of Paylocity.
• Familiarity with California HR practices and workers’ compensation processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, email, and electronic recordkeeping.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information.
• Ability to work independently and remain responsive during scheduled hours.
• Availability to work a temporary assignment.

Requirements

• Must provide and maintain reliable high-speed internet to perform remote job duties.
• Must have a quiet, private workspace suitable for handling confidential information.
• Must be available for scheduled calls, virtual meetings, and regular communication with the team.
