[Hiring] Talent Partner @IVC

Role Description

Although this is a remote based role, there is an expectation to attend relevant events and undertake visits to clinics as required. Flexibility and a willingness to travel will therefore be important aspects of the role.

We're looking for a talented and relationship-focused Talent Partner to support our First Opinion network, identifying and engaging exceptional veterinary professionals within one of the most specialist and talent-scarce markets in the UK.

This is far more than a traditional recruitment role. Success will come from your ability to understand specialist talent markets, build meaningful relationships with candidates who may not be actively seeking a move, and influence hiring decisions through insight, research and market expertise.

Blending headhunting, executive search principles, talent mapping and workforce planning, you'll partner closely with clinical leaders to deliver both immediate hiring needs and long-term talent strategies that support the future growth of our network.

This is a fully remote, home-based position covering the North of England. Occasional travel will be required for meetings, veterinary congresses and industry events across the UK and Europe.

Qualifications

• You may already be working within an in-house recruitment or talent acquisition environment.
• Excited by the opportunity to move beyond transactional recruitment into a more strategic, delivery-focused role.
• Energy, curiosity, and fresh ideas, alongside a passion for building relationships and uncovering talent.
• Skilled at looking beyond the active candidate market and understanding where specialist talent sits.
• Ability to quickly establish trust with both candidates and hiring managers.
• Recognize that exceptional hiring is built on long-term relationships.
• Previous veterinary recruitment experience would be beneficial, but it isn't essential.

Requirements

• Expertise in headhunting, talent mapping and proactive sourcing within specialist or difficult-to-fill markets.
• Experience engaging and influencing passive candidates through relationship-led recruitment approaches.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
• Excellent candidate assessment, negotiation and closing skills.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to translate market intelligence into effective recruitment strategies.
• Outstanding communication, networking and relationship-building skills.
• A proactive, resilient and collaborative mindset.
• Experience within veterinary, healthcare or another specialist professional market would be advantageous.
• Exposure to international recruitment, relocation and visa sponsorship.
