Role Description

The Senior Payroll Core Services Specialist, COE Terminations, acts as a link between TriNet and its customers, focusing on issuing final pay for individual terminating employees. Responsibilities include:

• Understanding customer needs and articulating TriNet’s ability to meet those needs.
• Ensuring compliance with rapidly changing Federal and State final pay regulations.
• Handling customer questions and providing resolutions regarding final payroll, paid time off, deductions, and benefits.
• Guiding clients through the final pay process and timeline.
• Offering alternate solutions to retain customer business.
• Working with cross-functional teams to enhance the customer experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Minimum 4+ years’ related experience processing multi-state payrolls or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
• Commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, continually changing business environment while managing multiple priorities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Requirements

• Maintain knowledge of Federal and State regulations for final pay and Minimum Wage requirements.
• Conduct analysis of WSE current benefit status to ensure compliance with Affordable Care Act requirements.
• Analyze and calculate final Paid Time Off balances and payout amounts.
• Process 30-70+ WSE terminations daily, prioritizing work based on client needs and state requirements.
• Collaborate with clients to ensure final pay is issued as intended while maintaining compliance.
• Lead clients through online Portal submission of WSE terminations.
• Work cross-functionally to update employee records for final pay as needed.
• Prepare audits for internal review and maintain SOX compliance.
• Identify patterns and trends in the termination process to improve client experience.
• Other projects and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor.
