Role Description

Own Kairos’s hiring and build a recruiting process that can keep up with our rapid growth.

What You’ll Do

• Run Kairos’s hiring rounds end to end.
• Manage every stage of the pipeline, including:
  • Application review
  • Work tests
  • Interviews
  • Reference checks
  • Work trials
  • Offers
• Source candidates from our programs, network, and the broader ecosystem.
• Build and improve our hiring infrastructure, including:
  • Designing and refining applications
  • Work tests
  • Interview questions
  • Candidate tracking
• Help scope new roles and weigh in on org design questions.
• Support hiring for Kairos Labs, our upcoming incubator for new AI safety organizations.

Qualifications

• Experience with recruiting, ideally having run hiring processes before.
• Strong judgment about people and comfort making decisions under uncertainty.
• Good with people; candidates should enjoy talking with you.
• Organized and reliable, able to manage multiple hiring rounds simultaneously.
• Mission-aligned with context on AI safety.

Benefits

• Salary: $105,000–$145,000 (baseline), $130,000–$180,000 (supported hubs), or $145,000–$200,000 (San Francisco Bay Area), depending on experience.
• Location: Remote role with access to office space in various cities.

Logistics

• Start date: Flexible, generally within a couple of months of applying.
• Remote with expected travel 3–6 times a year for conferences and events.
• Preference for candidates who can attend meetings in the ET time zone.
• Kairos is happy to sponsor visas to the US and likely UK visas in the coming months.
