[Hiring] Candidate Screening Specialist @Luminize

Role Description

We're looking for a Candidate Screening Specialist to own the qualification step between application and recruiter. You'll review inbound applicants, run structured screening interviews, and keep clean, consistent records in our applicant tracking system (ATS). You'll screen for roles across our San Diego corporate team and our warehouse and fulfillment operation in Fort Worth, Texas. This is a focused role. Your job is to hold a consistent, fair bar across high volume so our recruiters spend their time on candidates who are truly ready.

What You'll Be Doing

• Review inbound applications and resumes against role requirements, keeping the applicant queue current with no aged applications.
• Conduct structured phone and video screening interviews using an approved screening guide and scorecard.
• Write concise, evidence-based screen notes in ATS, working from meeting transcripts.
• Make advance or decline decisions at the screening stage, and apply an accurate reason code to every candidate you disposition.
• Flag strong candidates who may fit a different open role, and escalate patterns such as off-profile applicants or screening guides that don't reflect the role.
• Support general upkeep of the ATS so job posts, application questions, candidate emails, and reporting stay accurate.

• Recruiters consistently agree with the candidates you advance. Quality matters more than volume.
• Every applicant is reviewed promptly, and every screen is documented the same day.
• Every dispositioned candidate carries a clear reason code, giving our team reliable hiring data.
• Candidates leave your screen with an accurate picture of the role and a professional impression of Luminize.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience conducting candidate screens and structured interviews.
• US-market recruiting experience.
• Excellent written and spoken English, with clear, professional communication and the ability to build rapport quickly.
• Assessed candidates against a defined scorecard rather than personal impression, and to accept calibration feedback.
• Experience with an ATS (i.e. JazzHR).
• Familiarity with AI and video interview platforms (i.e. Fathom).
• Working knowledge of EEO and non-discrimination principles in screening, including topics that should not be asked.
• Concise written assessment skills: you document evidence, not impressions.
• Strong attention to detail and the discipline to keep records accurate under time pressure.
• Discretion with confidential candidate information.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Requirements

• Ability to work 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Pacific Time, Monday through Friday.
• Reliable high-speed internet with backup power, and a quiet workspace suitable for video interviews.
