Role Description
As a Senior Financial Operations Specialist with direct access to the CFO and the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), you will be part of ActBlueβs growing Finance team. In this role, you will operate as a strategic finance partner across the organization, combining ownership of core financial operations with high-impact analytical, advisory, and strategic project work.

Manage the entire client invoice billing, client payments, and financial process cycle for all sales products to ensure accuracy.

Provide support in annual audits preparation and bank account reconciliations.

Prepare a variety of complex financial and regulatory reports based on financial activity.

Assist in the month-end close process and systems integration.

Serve as a key analytical resource to executive leadership on financial reporting, continuous process improvements, and long-term organizational strategy.
What You Will Do

Billing, Revenue & Accounts Receivable:
-
Own and manage the entire client billing/invoicing process to ensure accuracy.

Perform the client revenue validation process to ensure invoice accuracy.

Manage the tracking and reporting of accounts receivable and the related aging report.

Payments, Reconciliation & Banking:
-
Own and manage the clients payments and reconciliation process against the payment processor, the accounting system, and the bank.

Monitor the organization's bank operating accounts for client payment reconciliation.

Sales Tax:
-
Serve as the primary point of contact for and partner with a 3rd party vendor in managing the full cycle of the sales tax process.

Ensure accuracy, timely submission, and full compliance in tax calculation, invoice posting, tracking sales tax payment and collection, and filing state tax returns.

Month End Close, Compliance & Audit:

Assist in the full cycle of financial/accounting operations for the month-end close process.

Ensure the accuracy of financial activity and accounting treatment recorded in ActBlue's books.

Ensure compliance with accounting policies, applicable government rules and regulations, and US GAAP.

Support the preparation of regulatory reporting to various authorities on a monthly and yearly basis.

Executive & Management Reporting:

Lead design and development of executive management reporting and analysis.

Develop key metrics to facilitate management analysis.

Support and contribute to the design and delivery of executive financial reporting and metrics used by ELT.

Serve as the first point of analysis for confidential labor relations cost analysis.

Strategic Initiatives & Leadership:

Lead complex, high-priority finance initiatives across their full lifecycle.

Develop recommendations on financial and operational policy creation and interpretation.
-
Provide ad-hoc support to the Director of FP&A on special projects.

Technology & Efficiency:

Leverage AI technologies to improve processes and achieve efficiencies.
Qualifications
-
5 to 8 years proven working experience in accounting, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, month-end close, and Accounts Receivable Aging.

Bachelorβs degree in Accounting/Finance.

Advanced technical skills, proficient in Microsoft/Excel/Google sheets.

Proven experience and knowledge with NetSuite and Stripe preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills, and a commitment to collaborate with people at all levels and with diverse backgrounds.

A strong interest in building processes and procedures and identifying opportunities for efficiency.
