[Hiring] Senior Finance & Strategy Analyst @Coinbase

Role Description

Ready to do the most impactful work of your career? At Coinbase, we are uncompromising on our mission to increase economic freedom. The bar is high, the environment is intense, and we like it that way. This isn't a place for complacency; it’s a place to be pushed past your perceived limits. If you're ready to build the future of finance alongside people who refuse to settle for "good enough," you belong here. Coinbase is a remote-first, but not remote-only company. Expect to get together quarterly for intense in-person working sessions called “surges.”

The FP&A team is at the heart of Coinbase's strategic execution, translating our ambitious mission to unlock economic freedom into a sustainable financial reality. We ensure the company's resources are deployed effectively, providing the data-driven guidance that fuels our growth and powers the future of finance. We own the company’s financial roadmap, from the annual operating plan and rolling forecasts to the in-depth business reviews that ensure we drive efficiency and make informed trade-offs.

As a Senior Financial Analyst on the FP&A team, you'll serve as the financial partner to Consumer leadership, owning the analysis and planning that guides how we allocate resources and drive efficiency across one of Coinbase's largest business lines. Your work will directly shape how Consumer scales.

• Own end-to-end forecasting, budgeting, and monthly financial deliverables for Consumer OpEx, ensuring precision and on-time delivery across all planning cycles.
• Build and maintain driver-based financial models that quantify risks, opportunities, and scenario outcomes for Consumer leadership.
• Drive monthly variance analysis and month-end close for your areas, partnering with Accounting to maintain data integrity across all financial reporting.
• Partner with Consumer Product, Engineering, Design, and cross-functional leads to translate financial insights into actionable resource allocation recommendations.
• Lead the preparation and presentation of financial analyses during business reviews, converting complex data into clear strategic recommendations.
• Execute proactive deep-dive analyses to surface trends, anomalies, and efficiency opportunities across Consumer operational spend.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or corporate finance with direct ownership of OpEx planning (headcount, marketing spend, product operations, or similar categories).
• Track record managing large expense budgets, delivering forecasts, and producing variance analysis that informed executive decisions.
• Demonstrated experience building driver-based financial models and scenario analyses in Excel, with proficiency in SQL for data analysis and at least one planning tool (e.g., Anaplan, NetSuite).
• History of partnering cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, or Design teams to align financial plans with business priorities and influence resource allocation.
• Experience in a high-growth tech, fintech, or financial services environment with comfort operating across multiple concurrent workstreams.
• Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

Requirements

• Base salary varies by location (see range below). Total compensation may also include equity and bonus eligibility, and benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k)).
• Annual base salary range (excluding equity and bonus): $130,900 — $154,000 USD.

Application Limit

• Candidates may submit a maximum of 3 applications within a 6-month period.
