Role Description

The PBS Billing Specialist plays a critical role in supporting revenue cycle operations through accurate commercial billing, claims follow-up, denial management, and payment resolution activities. The PBS Billing Specialist works collaboratively with internal departments to ensure claims are processed in accordance with regulatory requirements and payer guidelines.

The PBS Billing Specialist contributes to the financial integrity of the organization by ensuring:

• Timely claim submission
• Effective account follow-up
• Accurate billing practices

The PBS Billing Specialist serves as a subject matter resource for commercial billing processes involving stem cell transplant and cellular therapy claims while supporting the organization's mission through operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Progressive hospital billing experience
• Strong background in commercial billing processes
• Experience with payer follow-up activities
• Education or equivalent experience necessary to support advanced billing operations, denial management, appeals processing, and revenue cycle performance

Requirements

• Required: Associate's Degree or equivalent college credit
• Required: 5 years progressively responsible billing experience with three years in governmental hospital billing
• Preferred: 5 years progressively responsible billing experience with three years in commercial hospital billing and experience with stem cell transplants and cellular therapy claims
• May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis
