Role Description
Blackbird Health is seeking an ambitious, detail-oriented Accounting Manager to support our growing Finance team. In this role, you will report directly to the Director of Accounting and partner closely with Finance and cross-functional leaders to build out our modern accounting architecture.

Own day-to-day general ledger operations, combining hands-on execution with strategic operational ownership.

Responsibilities include journal entry preparation, flux analysis, multi-entity consolidation, balance sheet reconciliations, and full-cycle accounts payable management.

Serve as a key player in high-impact initiatives, including supporting our upcoming ERP accounting system implementation and driving overall audit readiness.

This hands-on role offers broad exposure across Finance and Operations in a fast-paced, multi-state environment.
Qualifications

3β5 years of progressive experience in general ledger accounting, public accounting, or financial operations in a high-growth, multi-state startup environment.

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience); CPA is a strong plus.

Solid technical knowledge of US GAAP, multi-entity consolidations, complex journal entries, and variance analysis.

Hands-on experience with modern cloud accounting systems (NetSuite, QuickBooks) and spend platforms (Ramp, Bill.com, Rippling).

Direct exposure to ERP implementation projects and external financial audit preparation.
Requirements

Deep experience managing month-end close workflows, multi-entity consolidations, accruals, and GAAP-compliant balance sheet reconciliations.

Adaptable, proactive, and comfortable managing confidential financial information while building efficient processes and scaling systems in a high-growth environment.

Experienced with modern cloud accounting software and spend management platforms, with direct exposure to ERP implementations and audit prep.

Meticulous approach to accuracy, high level of integrity, and strong cross-functional communication skills across Finance and leadership.
