Role Description
The Senior Media Billing Specialist oversees media billing processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
- Oversee and manage the end-to-end media billing process, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing, reconciliation, and payments.
- Audit and review media invoices to ensure accuracy, proper coding, and adherence to contract terms.
- Reconcile discrepancies between media buys, invoices, and payment records, working closely with finance, media planners, and vendors to resolve issues.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with company financial policies and industry regulations.
- Generate and analyze billing reports, providing insights and recommendations to management for process optimization.
- Support month-end and year-end financial close processes, including accruals and reporting.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in media billing operations.
- Train and mentor junior billing specialists, providing guidance and best practices for billing and reconciliation.
- Assist with audits, ensuring all necessary documentation and records are accurate and accessible.
- Work cross-functionally with internal teams, media vendors, and agencies to streamline billing operations and address escalated issues.
Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of experience in media billing, finance, or accounting in a media agency, marketing firm, or advertising company.
- Strong knowledge of media billing systems and financial processes.
- Proficiency in media buying and accounting software (e.g., Mediaocean, Strata, NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar platforms).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis).
- Experience leading process improvements and training junior team members is a plus.
