Role Description
Join a dynamic Customer Service Operations Support team as a Training Specialist I, delivering impactful training to empower Rhode Island Energy Contact Center employees. Reporting to the Supervisor of Training and QA, you’ll develop, enhance, and implement training programs that drive exceptional customer experiences. This remote role offers flexibility, limited in-person meetings, and the opportunity to shape the future of operational excellence.

Design, organize, and deliver engaging instructor-led training modules, job aids, eLearning assets, and assessments for technical and operational topics.

Facilitate training programs, meetings, demonstrations, and workshops using advanced training tools and resources.

Collaborate with operational and product teams to identify training gaps, align on requirements, and implement curriculum improvements.

Monitor and report on participation, assessment outcomes, retraining needs, and recommend strategic enhancements.

Partner with functional leaders to drive continuous improvement in training methods and program effectiveness.

Develop robust assessment criteria to measure and optimize training impact.

Stay current with the latest training techniques and leverage learning management systems (LMS) for best-in-class delivery.

Build strong relationships internally and externally to exchange best practices.

Participate in emergency and storm response assignments as needed.

Flexibility for remote work with occasional on-site requirements for team engagement and vendor training.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or minimum five years progressive training experience.

Proven ability to create and facilitate technical and operational training in both classroom and e-learning formats.

Strong organizational, facilitation, and time management skills to handle multiple programs and stakeholders.

Advanced knowledge of training methods, platforms, tools, and LMS, plus proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Skilled at absorbing complex information and developing practical, timely training solutions in a technical environment.

Knowledge of Rhode Island Energy’s electric/gas policies, systems, and regulated environment.

Exposure to Rhode Island regulations and utility industry practices.

Understanding of customer experience within a regulated utility context.
