Role Description

The Student Assistant role supports a remote faculty member within the Counseling program. This role assists a remote faculty member with course management, student engagement, grading support, and administrative tasks in 100% online courses that enable the instructor to maintain a high-quality learning experience for master's-level students.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Aid instructor in the initial review of assignments, discussion posts, and quizzes according to the instructor-provided rubrics and guidelines.
• Monitor the course emails and respond to basic student questions within 24 to 48 hours.
• Maintain accurate records safeguarding the confidentiality of subjects and students, as needed.
• Track student participation and engagement, and flag students who may be experiencing challenges.
• Assist in the preparation of manuscripts and presentations.
• Complete clerical updates to Canvas.
• Assist with various course management tasks.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Be a current PAU student; a doctoral student from any discipline is strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, counseling, or a related field.
• Ability to meet deadlines (occasionally quick ones).
• Proficient with APA formatting.
• Be detail-oriented; have strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Proficient with Qualtrics.
• Comfort with Excel.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
