Role Description

Leland is seeking an experienced fellowship & postdocs programs mentor to work with applicants pursuing competitive fellowships, grants, and postdoctoral positions. This role includes:

• Helping clients with program selection and application strategy
• Identifying research opportunities and research funding
• Refining research proposals and research publications
• Guiding clients through the full application process, including:
  • Personal statement
  • Statement of purpose
  • Fellowship essays
  • Secondary essays
  • Letters of recommendation
  • Resume review
• Providing interview prep and conducting interviews
• Developing networking strategies
• Assisting with financial aid & scholarships
• Grant writing
• Waitlist strategy

Ideal candidates have:

• Hands-on experience navigating fellowship, grant, or postdoc application processes
• Prior coaching or mentoring experience
• A clear, structured approach to helping clients present their strongest candidacy

Mentors set their own hours and rates, host sessions virtually, and partner with our team to deliver a high-quality, supportive experience for every client.

Qualifications
