Role Description
Lead UX strategy and design for a complex, multi-system patient experience, translating research into actionable strategy, journey maps, workflows, and wireframes.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Develop UX strategy for the patient post-booking experience.

Partner with research to shape research plans and translate findings into design direction.

Create journey maps, user flows, process maps, and system diagrams.

Map handoffs between booking experiences and electronic medical record systems.

Identify friction points, edge cases, and opportunities across the patient journey.
-
Develop wireframes and design artifacts independently.
-
Gather requirements and conduct or support patient-side interviews.
-
Refine personas and translate insights into wireframes and design solutions.
-
Use AI tools to accelerate research synthesis and design iteration.
-
Present strategy and design work to product, engineering, clinical, and research stakeholders.

Apply usability, accessibility, and regulated-industry considerations to design decisions.
Qualifications

5β8+ years of UX design experience with a strong strategy and research focus.

Portfolio demonstrating UX strategy, research, journey mapping, and design execution.

Experience with complex, multi-step, multi-system experiences.

Strong ability to translate qualitative research findings into design decisions.

Proven experience creating journey maps, user flows, process maps, and/or system diagrams.

Ability to independently execute wireframes and design artifacts.

Expert-level Figma proficiency; experience with FigJam, Miro, or similar tools.

Strong stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.

Ability to work independently and proactively in a fully remote environment.

Systemic thinking and experience understanding how information and workflows move between products, systems, or vendors.

Research experience combined with hands-on wireframing/design experience.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience designing care pathways or electronic medical record experiences.

Experience with AthenaHealth or similar healthcare platforms.

Healthcare, mental/behavioral health, telehealth, insurance, or other regulated-industry experience.

Service design experience spanning multiple products or systems.

Experience with scheduling, booking, matching, intake, or onboarding experiences.

Quantitative research experience in addition to qualitative research.

Fluency with AI tools for research synthesis, artifact creation, and design iteration.
-
Experience with contract-to-hire engagements.
-
Case studies showing problem framing, research, strategy, artifacts, and outcomes.
