Role Description
Koniag IT Systems, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a UX Researcher to support KITS and our government customer. The position is remote and requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust.
The UX Researcher will:

Provide systematic investigation of the Chesapeake Assessment and Scenario Tool (CAST).

Interact with CAST users to understand their needs and inform the UX design process.

Deliver creative UX solutions and associated data communication products for the next generation of the CAST application.

Work closely with Water Quality Scientists, Software Developers, and Stakeholders.

Utilize various methodologies and techniques for usability testing and analytics.

Act as a bridge between users and the Koniag/CBPO product team.
Qualifications

BA/BS degree.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in UX Research or UI/UX Design for digital products or services.

Fluent in English.
Requirements

Collaborate with KGS software designers and CBPO stakeholders early in the CAST Next Generation process.

Identify research goals and priorities with KGS software developers and CBPO stakeholders.

Define research questions about CAST and choose optimal data collection methods.

Craft research questions about CAST new functionality and select appropriate methodologies.

Develop, plan, and manage resources for the spatially explicit CAST application prototype by Spring 2027.

Identify suitable CAST participants for user feedback.

Transform findings into actionable insights for the spatially explicit CAST application.

Present findings about spatially explicit CAST needs to designers, software developers, and CBPO stakeholders.

Work with CBPO Web and Development Teams to inform wireframes and design mock-ups.

Develop improved information architecture and design options for CAST.
