[Hiring] Shopify UX Designer @Entrepreneur Cooperative

Role Description

We are looking for a Shopify UX Designer – Customizer Specialist who combines strong e-commerce UX thinking with hands-on Shopify implementation. This is a UX-first role, but we're specifically looking for a designer who understands how to create beautiful, conversion-focused storefronts using Shopify's built-in capabilities rather than relying on fully custom-coded solutions.

• Plan site structure, navigation, PDPs, collections, filtering, and overall user experiences.
• Work directly inside the Shopify Theme Customizer using sections, blocks, metafields, and metaobjects.
• Use Figma for style guides, wireframes, mockups, and designs that extend beyond theme capabilities.
• Prepare clear specifications and collaborate with developers when custom development is necessary.
• Present designs and recommendations to clients, gather feedback, and help clients manage their Shopify stores after launch.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience building Shopify stores using theme-store themes.
• A portfolio demonstrating Shopify storefront work is required.
• Strong experience with Shopify OS 2.0, sections, and blocks.
• Hands-on experience using metafields and metaobjects in Shopify Admin.
• Strong Figma skills for style guides, wireframes, and responsive mockups.
• Experience planning site architecture, navigation, collections, and filtering.
• Ability to conduct a UX audit and clearly explain recommendations.
• Strong understanding of e-commerce UX, mobile-first design, visual hierarchy, and typography.
• Ability to design attractive storefront experiences within the practical capabilities of Shopify themes.
• Working knowledge of WCAG accessibility fundamentals.
• Strong professional spoken and written English.
• Confidence leading client-facing meetings and presenting design recommendations in English.
• Ability to create clear written documentation and record short training videos.
• Reliable availability during agreed U.S. business hours.
• Strong organization, ownership, responsiveness, and attention to detail in a remote environment.

Requirements

• Experience with Klaviyo, including flows, templates, and signup forms.
• Experience with Shopify apps such as Rebuy, Judge.me, Okendo, Yotpo, Recharge, or Gorgias.
• Basic Liquid and/or HTML/CSS knowledge.
• Experience with A/B testing or Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO).
• Experience supporting Magento-to-Shopify or BigCommerce-to-Shopify migrations.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted design tools and incorporating AI into design workflows.

Benefits

• Competitive compensation of $1,400–$2,200 USD/month.
• Fully remote opportunity from Latin America.
• Flexible U.S. working hours, with schedules that can fall anywhere between Eastern and Pacific business hours based on team needs.
• Flexible PTO, including holidays in your country plus additional paid time off.
• Work on real-world Shopify projects for established e-commerce brands.
• Combine UX, Figma, Shopify, CRO, and e-commerce strategy in one role.
• Work directly with clients and collaborate with experienced designers, developers, and project managers.
• Continue developing your expertise across modern Shopify themes, apps, Klaviyo, accessibility, and emerging AI tools.
• Opportunity to begin part-time and grow into a larger, long-term engagement.
