Role Description
Are you a thoughtful, concept-driven designer with a sharp eye for branding and a genuine appreciation for architecture? We're looking for a Graphic Designer to shape the visual identity of a new company launched as a subsidiary of an established architecture firm based in Seattle. In this flexible, project-based role, you'll translate a detailed creative brief into a logo and visual identity that feels clearly connected to the parent firm's legacy while establishing the new company as a distinct brand with its own voice and service offering.
What you'll do:
-
Review the client's creative brief in depth and provide a clear, fixed-price quote for the full scope of the project, including your estimated timeline.
-
Lead a kickoff meeting with the client to align on goals, references, expectations, and the relationship between the new company and its parent architecture firm.
-
Research and develop multiple logo concepts that balance brand continuity with the parent firm and a fresh, independent identity for the new company.
-
Present a curated selection of design options in a second meeting, clearly articulating the rationale, visual language, and storytelling behind each proposal.
-
Refine the chosen direction based on client feedback, leading a final meeting to close out adjustments and approve the definitive identity.
-
Deliver polished, production-ready final files in all necessary formats and variations for both digital and print applications.
-
Define the foundational elements of the visual identity, such as typography, color palette, and logo usage guidelines, to ensure consistent application moving forward.
-
Communicate proactively and professionally throughout the process, ensuring every deliverable is executed with precision and minimal need for rounds of revisions.
Qualifications
-
2β4 years of professional graphic design experience, with a strong portfolio of logo design and brand identity projects.
-
Experience working with or designing for architecture, interior design, real estate, or related creative industries (a major plus, and highly valued for this project).
-
Advanced English proficiency.
-
Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.
-
A strong understanding of typography, form, proportion, and visual systems.
-
Proven ability to interpret a complex brief and translate abstract concepts into clear, meaningful design solutions.
-
Confidence presenting and defending design proposals directly to clients.
-
Experience preparing brand assets for both digital and print formats.
Requirements
-
Experience developing brand systems for sub-brands or companies within a larger parent brand.
-
Familiarity with the architecture and design scene, including its visual references, language, and aesthetic standards.
-
Ability to create brand guidelines or mini style guides to accompany the final identity.
-
Familiarity with AI tools to support ideation and creative workflows.
Benefits
-
Competitive compensation.
-
Flexibility.
-
Constant learning and growth.
-
