Role Description

The Email Designer is responsible for crafting visually compelling, high-converting email experiences that captivate, engage, and drive customer action. This role blends design expertise with a strategic intent to enhance the effectiveness of Alpha Lion’s email marketing campaigns—ensuring they not only look great but also perform exceptionally in engagement, conversion, and retention.

  • Design Engaging, High-Converting Emails
    • Develop visually compelling email designs that align with Alpha Lion’s branding, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints.
    • Create engaging graphics, layouts, and animations that drive action and conversion.
  • Implement Email Designs in Klaviyo
    • Upload, configure, and test designed emails within Klaviyo, ensuring proper automation, segmentation, and personalization.
    • Ensure email templates are properly coded (HTML/CSS when needed) for flawless rendering across all devices and inboxes.
    • Collaborate with the retention and marketing teams to set up flows and campaigns directly in Klaviyo, optimizing for deliverability and performance.
  • Collaborate on Lifecycle and Marketing Calendar Campaigns
    • Work closely with the retention and marketing teams to design email flows, including welcome flows, cart abandonment, reactivation, and post-purchase.
    • Support major promotions (seasonal campaigns, product launches) with visually compelling emails that drive urgency and conversions.
  • A/B Testing and Data-Driven Design Improvements
    • Continuously test different creative elements (CTA buttons, colors, imagery, layout structures) to improve performance.
    • Analyze engagement data and refine designs based on key insights.
  • Manage Email Asset Library & Efficiency
    • Organize and maintain an easily accessible library of email design assets for efficiency and consistency.
    • Streamline design processes to ensure timely execution of email campaigns.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, email design innovations, and best practices.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of direct brand experience in email marketing, preferably within eCommerce or DTC brands.
  • Experience working in cross-functional, high-paced teams, collaborating with designers, marketers, and retention teams.
  • Email Marketing Expertise – Strong understanding of customer journey mapping, campaign strategy, and conversion-focused email design.
  • Segmentation & Personalization – Proven ability to implement audience segmentation and dynamic content personalization to enhance engagement.
  • Automation & Lifecycle Flows – Hands-on experience setting up and optimizing automated email flows (welcome series, abandoned cart, re-engagement, post-purchase).
  • A/B Testing & Performance Optimization – Ability to test, analyze, and refine email elements (subject lines, CTAs, layouts, send times) to drive conversions.
  • Deliverability & Best Practices – Strong understanding of inbox placement, email compliance (CAN-SPAM, GDPR), and strategies to maintain sender reputation.
