Role Description
At the heart of our platform we track performance marketing data and build a number of solutions to turn this data into useful information for our customers. We work with a lot of data, generating over a billion events across our infrastructure daily. We aim to make as much of this data available in real-time as possible, which is no mean feat at this scale!
As a Senior Data & Analytics Manager, you will be responsible for managing and conducting analyses globally for our business and our customers. You will mentor others on the team on a multitude of tools and programming languages like SQL, Python, Tableau, Superset, etc to extract and manipulate data to answer business questions that enable us to optimize the customer experience and scale our businesses globally. In this role, you'll craft stories with data that highlight business opportunities and areas for growth.
Responsibilities
- Mentors junior team members on how to craft an analysis plan that utilizes multiple data sources.
- Expert in partnerships, or affiliate, marketing terminology and KPIs.
- Helps others understand when to use pre-built dashboards in Tableau and Superset versus creating an ad-hoc dashboard or extracting data directly from the data warehouse.
- Perform complex data analysis using a programming language like SQL (open to other languages as well). Builds documentation and trains others in how to optimize their SQL code for performance.
- Identifies broken internal processes and potential solutions to fix them.
- Become an expert in all of our data sources and how they can be used to answer business questions.
- Supports questions related to how reporting in our affiliate marketing technology differs from 3rd party tools like Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, and attribution vendors.
- Supports client and product team questions around measurement techniques like attribution, incrementality, MMM modelling, etc.
- Support AI initiatives across the company that relate to marketing or campaign analysis.
- Lead benchmarking and other analysis projects for our marketing department.
- Support our finance department on business analytics initiatives.
Qualifications
- 5-6 years of data and analytics experience.
- Experience mentoring others on how to optimally manipulate data using multiple approaches.
- Experience optimizing a business intelligence tool to find answers to business questions quickly.
- Able to teach others to think beyond raw data and to understand the underlying business context.
- Experience with media mix modelling, incrementality measurement, attribution, and/or longitudinal customer analysis.
- Able to create a test plan for junior team members to ensure the analysis results your team creates are accurate and trustworthy.
- Experience telling a story with data through clear and concise visualizations as well as excellent communication skills. Able to coach junior team members on the art of data storytelling.
- Experience with digital marketing channels. Exposure to affiliate, or partnership marketing, is a highly valued skill set.
- Able to work within ticketing tools like Zendesk.
- Experience with financial analysis a plus.
