Role Description

Join us in tackling healthcare for rural America! You’ll be joining our Medical Economics team and be a strong support to the actuarial function – driving analysis on cost of care, risk adjustment, forecasting, and performance of value-based contracts.

What You’ll Do

  • Data-Driven Insights: Use medical claims, clinical, and operational data to provide recommendations for improving financial and operational performance.

  • Infrastructure Development: Build robust analytical infrastructure, including comprehensive reports and dashboards, to monitor payor financial performance.
  • Market Trend Monitoring: Stay ahead of industry trends impacting contracting, such as payor market share, star rating changes, bid strategies, and reimbursement trends.
  • Ad Hoc Analysis: Conduct a variety of analyses related to benchmarking, contract optimization, investor relations, risk adjustment, and more.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with teams across Analytics, Data, Contracting, and Operations.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in actuarial or medical economics work, specifically healthcare-related.
  • Experience with medical and pharmacy claims, EMR data, and CMS Risk Adjustment files.
  • Understanding of value-based care programs for Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, or other healthcare plans.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Experience with analytics tools such as SQL, R, or Python and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
  • Collaborative spirit and ability to drive analyses with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to zoom in with attention to detail and also zoom out to see the big picture.
  • Ability to interpret complex data sets, identify trends, and generate meaningful insights for decision-making.
  • Strong communicator of questions, challenges, opportunities, and results to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics, statistics, or a related field; progress toward actuarial credentials (ASA/FSA) is a plus but not required.

Requirements

  • Deep commitment to one another, the people and communities we serve, and to care that enables everyone to achieve their best health.
  • Compassion and empathy.
  • Curiosity and an eagerness to listen.
  • Drive to deliver high-quality experiences, clinical care, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Strong focus on the sustainability of our business and scalability of our services to maximize our reach and impact.
  • Nurturing a diverse workforce with a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and points of view.
  • Taking our mission and business seriously, but not taking ourselves too seriously – having fun as we build!

Benefits

  • Competitive salary, equity grant, generous paid time off.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental & vision insurance with 100% of monthly premium covered for employees.
  • Company-sponsored 401k plan.
