Role Description
This role involves ensuring the quality of software applications through comprehensive testing strategies and execution.
- Develops high quality test strategy/plans, test cases and ensuing complete execution
- Reviews analysis documents, and testing requirements, assesses the impact on test plans and schedules
- Defines, designs, and delivers all testing work, including Functional Testing, System Integration Testing
- Performs regression, functional, integration, system testing
- Supports User Acceptance Testing (undertaken by subject matter experts situated within the business)
- Organizes and maintains the test script library
- Monitors, measures, controls, and reports to management on test progress, product quality, test results, and test completion
- Targets ‘Zero UAT defects’ that the delivered software application to the customer
- Takes responsibility and initiative in the job's decision-making and implementation phases
- Collects information, analyzes data, reaches a result, and gives the quality level of application based on objective quality metrics
- Participates in daily stand-up meetings, defect triage calls
- Responsible for working with third party suppliers/clients for defect management
- Leads the QA (Quality Assurance) activities of one or more projects
- Provides leadership and guidance to the test team on best practices
- Collaborates with team members
- Works closely with analysts, developers, and project managers to ensure that the software application is delivered on time and meets the quality targets
- Supports tests manager to identify risks and develop mitigation strategies
Qualifications
- Experience with software Testing Concepts, STLC and SDLC
- Experience on test planning, developing test strategy and quality reporting
- Experience with methods, tools, and technology used in software testing
- Expertise and knowledge on black box test techniques
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and clients
- Expertise and knowledge on test case execution, test case preparation
- Knowledge of SQL query language and scripting
- Practical knowledge of using developer tools (JavaScript Debug/Chrome/Firefox/etc...)
- Ability to test Web Service APIs (REST/SOAP) using SoapUI/JMeter is a plus
- Ability to search logs or crash reports to help isolate and identify the root cause of issues
- Experience with automation testing is a plus
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated interpersonal and teambuilding skills, working with technical and non-technical individuals
- Experience in Web and Mobile Functional Testing
- Fluent in writing and speaking English
- Excellent communication skills are essential for Quality Assurance Specialists to collaborate with team members, stakeholders, and clients
