[Hiring] Vice President, Health Technology Communications @Chartis

6d ago - Chartis is hiring a remote Vice President, Health Technology Communications. 💸 Salary: usd 165,000 - 190,000 per year 📍Location: USA

Role Description

Vice Presidents manage the team, the client relationship, the work and are accountable for ensuring the firm meets client expectations and firm goals. This role will sit within Jarrard’s Health Services & Technology practice and is particularly well suited for a senior communications leader with deep experience advising healthcare technology, digital health, health services or technology-enabled healthcare organizations.

Experience advising companies at the intersection of healthcare, technology and innovation is highly valued. Candidates should bring familiarity with the evolving health technology landscape, including consumer health technologies and digital health products such as:

  • Ambient clinical documentation and AI-enabled clinical workflow tools
  • Virtual care and digital care delivery platforms
  • Remote patient monitoring and connected health technologies
  • Consumer wellness, fitness and health-tracking technologies
  • Patient engagement, navigation and digital front-door solutions
  • Medication management and adherence technologies
  • Digital behavioral health and mental health platforms
  • Fertility, women’s health and other condition-specific digital health solutions

Past work with enterprise healthcare and platform technologies is also valuable, including technologies that support health systems, providers, payers and healthcare businesses in areas such as:

  • Clinical operations
  • Revenue cycle
  • Workforce management
  • Data and analytics
  • Interoperability
  • Care management
  • Patient engagement

The ideal candidate does not need to be a technologist or product expert but know how to connect a technology or product story to the larger forces shaping healthcare, identify the narratives and moments that can build visibility and credibility among clinical, consumer, media, investor and other stakeholder audiences, and translate those opportunities into integrated communications strategies that support business goals.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have developed and executed communications strategies across the health technology lifecycle — from building executive and company thought leadership and supporting product launches to help organizations communicate the implementation and adoption of new technologies by both clinicians and patient/consumer audiences.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree; advanced degrees in healthcare communications, health policy, business, technology or related fields preferred
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in healthcare communications, with substantial experience working with healthcare technology, digital health, health services or technology-enabled healthcare organizations
  • Agency experience is strongly preferred, particularly experience serving healthcare technology or health services clients
  • Demonstrated understanding of the healthcare technology ecosystem and the forces shaping how healthcare is delivered, financed and experienced by consumers
  • Comfortable navigating emerging and evolving technologies, including AI-enabled healthcare solutions and digital health platforms
  • Able to quickly understand complex products, business models and technologies and translate them into compelling, accessible narratives
  • Open to change and flexible in a fast-paced environment – both internally and that of our clients
  • Outstanding people leader, adept at attracting, motivating and developing consulting professionals and blending them into high-functioning teams
  • Well-regarded personal brand; a senior consultant who brings a strong and compelling point of view
  • Intellectual horsepower that drives distinctive consultation to clients and enduring contributions to the firm
  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Superior communicator able to convey insights in a way that motivates clients to action
  • Solid track record of developing and managing strong client relationships and leveraging those relationships into high-impact engagements; ability to generate and/or bring in new business annually

Requirements

  • Lead clients to realize full potential (meeting program objectives, on time/quality work) – this includes the ability to write, sell and lead strategic communications and engagement efforts
  • Establish and lead relationship(s) with clients to ensure team gets information it needs and furthers the firm’s reputation within the client organization
  • Develop key client strategies, plans and budgets and oversee programs for clients managed by your teams
  • Manage all aspects of your teams, including utilization, growth and development
  • Serve as ongoing lead advisor and provide counsel as needed on clients managed by your teams
  • Involve Practice Lead and other senior leaders on client issues as needed
  • In collaboration with the Practice Leader and Chief Development Officer, contribute to pitch strategy and proposal development for targeted business opportunities
  • Play a significant role in new business pitches
  • Identify new opportunities with existing clients where the firm could contribute value to the client and work with appropriate client contact(s) to pursue these opportunities
  • Participate in firm thought leadership activities
  • Demonstrate and nurture Jarrard Vision and Mission and bring our Values to life
  • Mentor the colleagues who report to you, guide career development and growth opportunities
  • Ensure teams are adept at all firm high-value services
  • Help agency recruit and retain the best people
  • Capture and transfer best practices in key client management
  • Help identify potential new service capabilities, based on client needs and competitive offerings
  • Ensure daily billable goals are met by you and your direct reports
  • Assist Practice Lead in staffing client teams
  • Participate in, and provide leadership for, professional development curriculum, including Jarrard Academy
