[Hiring] Senior Business Development Manager @Hexagon

Role Description

Hexagon’s Agriculture division is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth of its agriculture solutions portfolio across the Asia market, with a primary focus on Japan. The core mission of this role is to secure new customers and build a healthy, well-qualified sales pipeline. Working closely with marketing, sales, and channel partners, the Business Development Manager will:

• Prospect, qualify, and win new customers in Japan and across northern Asia while building a healthy pipeline aligned to growth targets.
• Proactively identify growth opportunities and emerging use cases by staying close to customers and market needs across key agricultural segments.
• Manage customer relationships and grow sales across northern Asia.
• Develop tailored sales materials, including presentations, pitch decks, RFI/RFQ responses, and executive communications.
• Maintain accurate CRM records and a reliable view of customer engagements, pipeline, and secured-account growth.
• Share structured market and product feedback with Marketing, Engineering, and internal teams to inform roadmap, sales strategy, and technical content.
• Compile a quarterly forecast and regularly track and report on performance to quarterly targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent hands-on technical experience.
• 10+ years in technical sales, field applications, market development, or other customer-facing technical role.
• Extensive agriculture experience across rice paddy, small-plot vegetable, orchard, or specialty crop systems common in Japan and Northern Asia, ideally with channel or distribution exposure.
• Working knowledge of autonomy-enabling technologies such as GNSS/INS, ROS, CAN bus, machine vision, or perception systems.
• Strong customer-facing communication skills, including technical training, product demos, and executive presentations.
• Fluent in Japanese and English, strong self-management skills, ability to travel up to 50%, and proficiency with Microsoft 365 and CRM tools.

Requirements

• Familiarity with product lifecycle feedback processes and collaboration with product management teams.
• Additional Asian language skills (Korean, Mandarin, Thai, or Vietnamese particularly valued).
• Experience with utilizing or integrating precision farming technology on agricultural equipment.
