Role Description

The client is seeking an experienced Business Development Specialist (Recruitment) to join their growing team. This is a predominantly business development-focused role, with approximately 80% of the position focused on generating new business and 20% on recruitment delivery.

• Identify companies with recruitment needs and engage key decision-makers.
• Generate new opportunities and convert them into clients.
• Build strong client relationships and drive new business.
• Utilize automated sourcing and screening processes to support recruitment functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Business Development & Client Acquisition (80%)
  • Identify and target companies with recruitment and talent requirements.
  • Conduct outbound business development activities through LinkedIn, email, phone, and networking.
  • Research and identify key decision-makers, including hiring managers and HR leaders.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients.
  • Communicate the value of the Company's recruitment solutions to prospective clients.
  • Book qualified meetings with decision-makers and develop opportunities.
  • Convert prospects into new clients and build long-term relationships.
  • Manage follow-ups and maintain engagement throughout the business development cycle.
  • Track business development activity and performance metrics.
  • Identify opportunities to expand relationships with existing clients.
  • Develop a strong understanding of client needs and market trends.
• Recruitment Delivery (20%)
  • Manage the recruitment pipeline supported by automated processes.
  • Review and manage candidate pipelines to ensure progress.
  • Prepare high-quality candidate shortlists based on client requirements.
  • Assess candidate profiles against role requirements.
  • Liaise with candidates and clients throughout the recruitment process.
  • Support recruitment assignments generated through business development activities.
  • Maintain accurate records within recruitment and ATS platforms.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of outbound B2B business development or sales experience.
• Proven track record of generating new business through outbound prospecting.
• Ability to identify and engage senior decision-makers.
• Experience in personally winning new clients and building strong relationships.
• Strong understanding of the business development cycle.
• Previous experience selling into the Australian market is essential.
• Experience prospecting within financial services or technology is highly desirable.
• Understanding of recruitment processes and ATS platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong relationship-building and consultative selling skills.
• Commercially minded, proactive, and results-driven.
• Highly organised with strong follow-up and time management skills.
