[Hiring] Senior Director, Head of Enterprise Clinical AI & Technology @Cigna Healthcare

Role Description

The Head of Enterprise Clinical AI + Technology is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping, designing, and advancing The Cigna Group’s enterprise clinical AI and technology agenda. This leader will operate at the intersection of clinical expertise, product and solution design, artificial intelligence, and operational execution.

• Partner across clinical, technology, data and analytics, operations, legal, compliance, and business teams.
• Translate enterprise clinical priorities into scalable AI-enabled solutions that improve clinical quality, clinician experience, operational efficiency, affordability, and patient health outcomes.

Impact Statement

This role is pivotal in accelerating the enterprise clinical AI roadmap by ensuring solutions are clinically grounded, responsibly designed, operationally scalable, and aligned to measurable business and clinical outcomes.

• Help position the enterprise clinical organization as a strategic growth engine.
• Move high-priority AI and technology opportunities from concept through design, implementation, adoption, and performance management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of enterprise clinical AI and technology strategies.
• Serve as a senior clinical and strategic advisor to business, clinical, technology, data science, and operations leaders.
• Oversee the design and refinement of differentiated clinical AI and technology solutions.
• Apply clinical expertise and human-centered solution design principles.
• Partner with various teams to move priority AI and technology initiatives from opportunity identification through design, incubation, implementation, adoption, and scale.
• Provide thought leadership on emerging AI, digital health, interoperability, and clinical technology trends.
• Develop business cases, impact models, success metrics, and performance management routines.
• Establish strong execution discipline, governance routines, and executive-level reporting.
• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team.
• Create executive-level communications, presentations, decision documents, and stakeholder updates.

Required Skills

• Active or prior clinical training and credential required (e.g., MD, DO, RN, NP, PA, PharmD).
• Active or recent clinical practice experience is strongly preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive healthcare leadership experience.
• Demonstrated experience designing or leading AI, machine learning, automation, digital health, or advanced analytics solutions in healthcare.
• Strong understanding of clinical workflows.
• Proven ability to lead direct reports and matrixed teams.
• Strong executive presence and influencing skills.
• Comfort operating in ambiguity and structuring complex problems.
• Strong financial and business acumen.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree and advanced clinical, healthcare, business, public health, informatics, or related degree required.
