[Hiring] Water Fittings Technician @SEVERN TRENT

Role Description

As a Water Fittings Technician, you’ll help protect drinking water supplies by inspecting third-party plumbing systems and ensuring they meet Water Fittings Regulations. You’ll engage with plumbers, house builders, manufacturers, consultants, and customers to promote good plumbing practices. You will have scheduled jobs and other jobs that you need to schedule yourself each day.

Working 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday, you’ll be home-based and travel across the region. You will be based around the Stoke on Trent area as the patch you will be covering will predominantly be Staffordshire. You’ll plan and prioritise inspections across your geographical area, visiting premises including:

• Public buildings
• Industrial and commercial sites
• Agricultural premises
• New construction sites

You’ll carry out proactive and reactive inspections, communicate clearly with customers, and accurately record your findings as part of our statutory enforcement activities. You will also work on a 1-6 out of hours standby rota.

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of plumbing systems
• Ability to adapt as priorities change
• Good IT skills, including knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working with customers and the general public (advantageous)
• Driving licence (essential)
