[Hiring] Roadside Technician @Allianz

Role Description

We keep people moving when their plans are disrupted. This role is for experienced vehicle technicians who like variety, autonomy and being the person who makes the call at the roadside. You'll start and finish from home, run your day from a fully equipped van, and use your diagnostic skills and judgement to get customers safely back on the road or arrange recovery when that's the right choice.

If you prefer field-based work, clear outcomes, and direct customer contact over a workshop environment, you'll fit here.

We're hiring in Dunfermline.

What you can expect

• £41,200 base salary
• £8,000 bonus, plus a guaranteed additional £3,000 bonus in your first 12 months
• Realistic OTE of £55,000; top performers earn north of £60,000
• No overnight or 12-hour shifts; average 42.75 hours per week between 7am and 10pm, Monday to Sunday
• Alternating start times (7am/11am), two weekends off per month, rota set 12 months in advance
• Paid overtime, Bank Holiday supplement and a day off in lieu
• Private medical cover, pension contributions up to 6.5%, and a wide range of discounts and benefits
• Ongoing training, including EV Level 3 IMI Accredited and ATA Level 3 roadside diagnostics if you aren't already qualified

Key Responsibilities

• Attend roadside assistance calls, assess the situation, diagnose faults using modern diagnostic tools, and repair at scene wherever safe and possible.
• Make practical, safety-led decisions on repair versus recovery; when needed, arrange professional recovery and dealer workshop attention.
• Own each job end-to-end: communicate clearly with customers, set expectations, and provide reassurance in their moment of need.
• Operate and maintain your fully equipped van, manage tools and parts, follow safety procedures, and keep accurate notes in our systems.
• Meet service, safety and quality standards while working efficiently toward achievable targets with clear financial rewards.
• Work effectively in an environment shaped by artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, data analytics and cloud-based tools.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a vehicle or roadside technician who can work independently at the scene.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills with modern equipment.
• Confident, calm customer communication.
• Comfortable using IT, mobile apps and diagnostic software.
• Full UK driving licence and confidence driving a fully equipped van.
• Relevant technical qualifications (e.g., manufacturer apprenticeship or equivalent City & Guilds Parts I & II, NVQ/B-Tech diploma).
• Flexibility to work the rotating shift pattern between 7am and 10pm, including some weekends and Bank Holidays.

Benefits

• Support in continuing your personal and career development.
• Competitive annual leave and contribution up to 6.5% towards a company pension scheme.
• Access to a range of discounts on Allianz products, as well as vouchers and discounts for high street and online retailers.
• Private Medical Cover, annual Flu vaccination, annual Eye Care vouchers.
• Discounted travel/pet/musical/home/car Insurance.
• Roadside Assistance free after 6 months' probation and up to three paid days for Corporate Social Responsibility.
• Comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) available from day one of employment.
