[Hiring] Vice President, Environmental Health & Safety Global Supply Chain @Johnson Controls

Role Description

The Vice President, Global Supply Chain EHS is the accountable EHS leader for Johnson Controls' global manufacturing and supply-chain network: factories, warehouses, distribution centers, logistics activities and related locations worldwide. The role reports to the Vice President, Global EHS, who sets enterprise EHS direction, and translates that direction into the framework, standards, expertise, assurance and performance system for the network.

• Leads through regional and site EHS teams.
• Partners with Global Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Human Resources, Sustainability and regional leadership.
• Delivers results by making SIF (serious injury and fatality) prevention the primary safety priority.
• Identifies high-energy and high-consequence exposures.
• Defines and verifies critical controls where the work happens.
• Prioritizes elimination and engineering controls over administrative ones.
• Owns the EHS management system, risk-based assurance and performance framework for the network.
• Embeds EHS into capital deployment, facility design, equipment, acquisitions and network changes.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience in EHS.
• Significant progressive EHS leadership across a large, geographically dispersed manufacturing, industrial or supply-chain network.
• Executive-level experience developing and implementing global EHS strategies, standards, management systems and assurance programs.
• Demonstrated success preventing serious injuries and fatalities (SIF).
• Record of building operational accountability and influencing senior leaders across a complex matrix.
• Development of regional and site EHS leaders, succession planning and resource alignment.
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science or a related technical discipline.

Requirements

• Experience in organizations with large global manufacturing footprints and mature operational-excellence systems.
• Experience integrating EHS into capital projects, engineering, automation and continuous improvement.
• Establishing global standards across different regulatory and cultural environments and levels of site maturity.
• Advanced degree in engineering, business, EHS or a related field.
• CSP, CIH, CHMM or equivalent international credentials.
