[Hiring] Senior User Researcher @StackAdapt

3d ago - StackAdapt is hiring a remote Senior User Researcher. 💸 Salary: cad 134,400 - 184,800 per year 📍Location: Canada

Role Description

As a Senior UX Researcher at StackAdapt, you’ll play a key role in shaping product strategy across multiple product teams. You’ll lead end-to-end research, from framing ambiguous problems to delivering actionable insights that directly influence product roadmaps. You’ll partner closely with Product & Design to identify and prioritize the highest-impact research opportunities and serve as the go-to research expert for your product areas. You’ll also help raise the bar for research practice across the team by mentoring others and enabling stakeholders to conduct quality research independently.

This is a contract position for 18 months. StackAdapt is a Remote First company, we are open to candidates located anywhere in Canada for this position.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead research strategy and execution across 3–4 product teams, running mixed-method studies (qualitative & quantitative) to tackle complex problem spaces.
  • Frame and scope ambiguous research problems, translating complex business questions into clear research plans with defined objectives and expected outcomes.
  • Balance traditional product discovery work with more proactive, generative research, spotting emerging questions early and helping the team move from validating decisions to informing them.
  • Go beyond delivering reports by facilitating workshops (e.g. ideation, solutioning) that translate validated findings into prioritized product requirements and tangible design solutions.
  • Act as a strategic partner to Product and Design stakeholders by proactively identifying research opportunities, challenging assumptions and representing the user perspective in trade-off discussions.
  • Partner beyond Product and Design, collaborating with teams like Product Analytics, Marketing, Sales and Client Services to ground research in a full picture of the user & the business.
  • Contribute to product roadmaps by ensuring research findings shape both immediate development cycles and longer-term planning.
  • Build and maintain resources that enable stakeholders to run quality research independently; consult on and provide feedback on stakeholder-led research plans.
  • Identify and implement improvements to UXR tools and processes, including leveraging AI to create repeatable, scalable workflows that raise the quality and efficiency of research across the product org.

Qualifications

  • 4–7+ years of applied UX research experience, with a portfolio demonstrating research-informed decision-making and the ability to extract actionable insights from qualitative and quantitative data in complex technology spaces.
  • Proficiency across a broad range of qualitative and quantitative research methods, with experience running mixed-method studies and knowing when to apply each approach.
  • Hands-on experience integrating AI tools into your research workflow, whether for synthesis, analysis, recruiting, or other stages of the research process.
  • Experience operating with autonomy across multiple product teams or squads and managing 1–3 concurrent studies with varying timelines and support models.
  • Excellent communication skills with a track record of tailoring insights and recommendations for diverse audiences, from product development teams to executive leadership.
  • Experience facilitating workshops (e.g. ideation, co-creation) and actively driving research findings into product decisions (not just awareness).
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with cross-functional partners and coach them on research best practices and study design.
  • Familiarity with digital advertising, data privacy regulations (e.g. GDPR, CCPA), and evolving industry trends such as cookieless targeting or AI-driven optimization.
  • Experience conducting UX research on AI-powered features or products (with an understanding of the unique challenges this entails) is a strong asset.

Requirements

  • The compensation range listed for this role reflects the expected base salary for candidates located in the posting country based on a global rate.
  • It is informed by market data and the approved budget for this position.
  • StackAdapt maintains different compensation ranges for roles across other countries and regions, and final offers will be aligned to the candidate’s current location.

  • Base Salary Band: $134,400 — $184,800 CAD
