Role Description

The Regina City Coordinator is responsible for the execution of Leftovers’ Rescue Food programs in Regina. This position reports directly to the Community and Projects Manager, but will also work in conjunction with the rest of the Operations team.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Pursue and develop new partnerships with food vendors, service agencies, and other strategic partners across Regina
• Recruit and manage a committed group of volunteers who are passionate about diverting food waste
• Coordinate and manage food redirection via our Rescue Food app
• Track and report food redirection data on a monthly basis
• Cover pick-ups that are missed/not claimed by volunteers
• Support volunteers in increasing awareness about the issue of wasted food and Leftovers’ efforts to address this
• Act as an advocate for food systems solutions and innovation in Regina
• Contribute to our emerging culture of localized philanthropy by seeking out local funding opportunities (grants, donor relationships, fundraisers) and stewarding Leftovers’ supporters in Regina
• Attend relevant meetings with the larger organization and contribute to organizational initiatives, strategic planning, and operational goals.
• Act as an advocate for thriving food systems and innovation for less food waste through participation in the community

Qualifications

• Experience in a related industry (non-profit, charity, food-related) - (1-3 years)
• Passionate about Regina’s food landscape, waste diversion, and community building
• Experience in volunteer and schedule management
• Experience in effective relationship-building across organizations, businesses and other community partners
• Familiar with Google’s G Suite of programs (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms, Calendar, etc.), and willing to learn and use multiple tech-based tools
• Planning, organizing, and managing time efficiently in order to meet deadlines
• Problem solving, task prioritization and ability to remain focused under pressure.
• To truly represent Leftovers as an ambassador (values, mission and goals aligned) in a positive and professional manner
• Able to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Able to accommodate a flexible work schedule, including some evenings/weekends
• Access to a vehicle and possession of a valid Class 5 license (a vehicle is required for this position) is a must
• Access to a computer and phone for work purposes is required

Requirements

• $24/hour, up to 20 hours per week
• 6-month contract, starting August 2026 with a possibility of extension
