[Hiring] Localization Engineer @MarketFully

Role Description

MotionPoint translates websites for some of the world's biggest brands, and our technology is what makes that fast and cost-effective. As a Localization Engineer, you'll be the link between our translation team and our platform engineering team, making sure the tools behind every translated website run smoothly.

You’ll be working on a range of clients' websites, which means exposure to a huge range of sites and technologies, working out how each one is built and how our technology can translate it more efficiently.

What you'll do

• Keep our in-house translation tools up, available and working properly for the translation team.
• Review content coming into the translation queue and spot patterns of repetition, such as product names in a checkout message or lists of materials.
• Use regular expressions and our "reserve terms" technology to translate repeated content once and reuse it, so our customers pay less.
• Work with translation account managers to improve how content is handled, and train them on what's happening technically in the tool.
• Turn feedback from the translation team into clear requests for our product team.

Qualifications

• You don't need to be a developer. This is a technical role where curiosity and the ability to learn matter more than knowing a particular tool.
• You can read and understand HTML.
• You pick up new systems quickly. All our tools are built in-house, so everyone learns them from scratch, and we'll train you.
• You can explain technical issues in simple terms, both to translation colleagues and to the product team.
• You have an analytical mind and enjoy spotting patterns.

Requirements

• Experience in translation or localization, for example as a translation account manager, localization specialist or translator with a technical interest.
• JavaScript.
• Regular expressions (regex).
• Experience with any CAT or translation management tool.

Benefits

• A rare chance to combine translation and technology in one role.
• Full training on our proprietary platform.
• Fully remote.

The Hiring Process

• ❤️ Culture + Connect Interview – with one of the talent team.
• ✨ Skills + Experience Interview – with Snr Director of Platform Operations.
• 🤝 Final Chat – with VP of Delivery and Customer Experience.
• 📌 Task – at some point in the process, you'll be asked to complete a short task based on the kind of work you'd do in the role. We'll share the details with you in advance.

Our Diversity, Equality & Inclusion Commitment

We welcome applications from diverse and under-represented groups regardless of their background. We know the confidence gap and imposter syndrome can get in the way of meeting spectacular candidates, so even if you feel you don't fulfill all the requirements, we encourage you to still apply - we'd love to hear from you! 🙂

We value having divergent thinkers who bring various experiences and viewpoints to the table at MarketFully. We strongly encourage members of underrepresented groups to apply.

We are also able to make reasonable adjustments throughout the full recruitment process, so we invite you to identify any additional support you may require to ensure you are supported throughout the full process.

How To Apply

If all this sounds like you, simply upload your resume and complete the application form. While a cover letter is optional, we welcome any other way for you to share what draws you to and motivates you about this role and the MarketFully Group.
