Role Description

The Internal Request Routing Clerk is responsible for managing incoming requests in a remote office administration role. Key responsibilities include:

• Reading incoming forms and messages to identify the basic subject.
• Checking for essential information and routing requests to the appropriate team.
• Recording requests and ensuring relevant owners can see necessary parts.
• Asking a lead for guidance when categories are uncertain.
• Maintaining clear communication with internal staff, including courtesy and follow-through.
• Reviewing assigned intake areas, sorting new items, and updating online status fields.
• Sending brief acknowledgements for received requests.
• Distinguishing between standard resource answers and specialist decisions.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service, office administration, reception, or a shared inbox is a plus.
• Beginners are welcome; training will be provided.
• Comfortable with web-based queues, forms, and written instructions.

• Attention to detail, especially when similar categories lead to different teams.
• Ability to notice urgent deadlines without assuming every message is urgent.
