[Hiring] Global Strategic Sourcing Commodity Manager, Machining @RTX

Role Description

• Executes commodity account management and strategic sourcing strategy.
• Implements supply chain strategies.
• Negotiates or awards contracts within specified spending limits and develops new qualified sources of supply.
• Partners with internal clients and stakeholders to identify sourcing needs and improve sourcing strategy.
• Analyzes suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
• Responsible for overall relationship with one or multiple strategic accounts across given suppliers.
• Ensures supplier is performing to the designed Collins requirements from delivery, quality, and cost perspective.
• Drives best-cost supplier sourcing, business cash improvements, and supplier consolidation activities.
• Evaluates market conditions to maintain inventory levels and control costs and make recommendations for cost reduction.
• Acts as an owner of product transitions between suppliers, coordinating technical meetings between multiple entities.
• Coordinates supplier improvement activities including continuous improvement (CI) events.
• Organizes, leads, and manages supplier meetings regarding strategic initiatives, new work placed at the supplier, performance issues (cost, delivery, and quality), and routine program or business reviews.

Qualifications

• Requires advanced to expert knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
• May have broad knowledge of project management.
• Requires substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs, or systems in order to provide enhancements within job area.
• Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
• For Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

Requirements

• Employees working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite.
• Employees working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite, with the ratio of time determined in partnership with your leader.
• Employees working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).
• For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
