Role Description

We are seeking an experienced E-Discovery Project Coordinator to support ITC Federal’s work for the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) under the anticipated MEGA 6 automated litigation support (ALS) program. This is a fully remote position supporting DOJ’s complex litigation mission.

The eDiscovery Project Coordinator is a senior level position and is responsible for coordinating technical aspects such as assisting with strategic and legal aspects for all assigned projects and matters involving electronic discovery.

This position supports the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) under the anticipated MEGA 6 procurement. MEGA 6 is expected to continue DOJ’s multiple-award contract vehicle for automated litigation support (ALS) services.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary point of contact throughout the discovery lifecycle, providing expert consultation and advice on technology and best practices.
  • Consults with case teams to develop and apply technical strategies, requirements, and goals to implement project plans.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact and liaison for electronic discovery issues between the legal team and contractors.
  • Advises the legal team on technology options to respond to specific discovery needs.
  • Participates in legal proceedings, prepares affidavits, and testifies as to the defensibility of the government’s eDiscovery process.
  • Ensures standard procedures for electronic discovery and litigation support projects are consistently applied.
  • Develops cost estimates and advises on maximizing efficiencies and cost reductions.
  • Oversees the creation of statistical reports on collection, filtering, processing, review, and productions.
  • Delegates workflow tasks, including data management, constructing search queries, processing, production, and quality control.
  • Coordinates efforts of others in response to discovery requests and provides regular reports and metrics.
  • Stays abreast of emerging electronic discovery litigation support technology and processes.
  • Maintains current knowledge of available software applications and areas of expertise.
  • Conducts regular briefings on new technology and process improvements regarding electronic discovery.

Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Public Trust clearance prior to start.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience providing eDiscovery services and litigation support on complex cases.
  • Demonstrated exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detailed planning and organizational skills with a thorough understanding of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM).
  • Solid, broad knowledge of Information Technology infrastructures including networks and data sources.
  • Prior knowledge and experience managing eDiscovery projects and related technologies.
  • Advanced experience planning eDiscovery efforts and managing client expectations.
  • Proficient in a wide range of technologies and knowledgeable of eDiscovery industry best practices.
  • Establish compliance with all directives for secured handling of documents.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining proper priorities.
  • Ability to manage complex relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Well organized, strong communicator, detail-oriented, and confident working independently.
  • Substantial relevant experience may substitute for degree requirement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree and graduate degrees strongly preferred along with eDiscovery related technical certifications.
  • Certification in eDiscovery program preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • This is a fully remote position; work is performed from a home office.
  • Must be located in or near the Washington, DC area and available for short-notice on-site meetings.
  • Work is primarily sedentary, performed while using a computer for extended periods of time.
