Role Description

We’re looking for someone to join our team as a cyber risk consultant. They’ll have an inquisitive mind and want to improve the world around them. This will come across on a day to day basis as they work to understand our clients’ business and help them to make better decisions that improves their cyber security posture.

• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and verbal form.
• Confidence to question and challenge the status quo.
• Work at the intersection of cyber security and ‘the business’ to assess security postures and conduct cyber risk assessments.
• Listen to clients and ask questions before making assumptions.
• Collaborate with clients, sharing work in progress deliverables for feedback.
• Work with senior business leaders, both within security and IT teams, as well as non-technical teams and board members.
• Help identify what needs protecting and prioritizing, and understand the consequences of risk events to operations.
• Comfortable problem solving by breaking down challenges into manageable parts.
• Document assumptions or estimates made along the way.
• Lead on carrying out and writing up interviews and workshops.
• Analyze collected data, looking for patterns and insights to develop recommendations.
• Communicate findings and recommendations effectively, focusing on realistic, pragmatic, and sustainable solutions.
• Manage exceptions and influence clients and other stakeholders.
• Work autonomously on smaller projects and individual tasks, keeping clients updated.
• Travel to client sites for meetings or workshops as required.
• Contribute to internal tools, processes, and open-source projects.
• Raise awareness of services and propose new services to clients.
• Participate in the Cydea x Good Causes charitable programme, spending five days annually on pro-bono engagements.

Qualifications

• Couple of years of experience in cyber risk consulting.
• Aptitude for consulting and willingness to learn on the job.
