[Hiring] Assistant Analyst @Martin & Company

Today - Martin & Company is hiring a remote Assistant Analyst. πŸ’Έ Salary: usd 50,000 - 60,000 per year πŸ“Location: USA

Role Description

As an Assistant Analyst working cross-functionally across our organization, you'll get something most early-career roles don't offer: a view of the whole business. Instead of starting in one department, you'll work across our delivery teams, including State Filings, Product Development, Regulatory Compliance, Actuarial, and Data Analytics, as well as our professional services and client-facing teams. You'll provide hands-on project and administrative support while you learn how an insurance consulting firm serves its clients from start to finish.

This role is built for growth. As you build skills and discover where you excel and what interests you most, you'll have the opportunity to take on more substantive work in those areas. Over time, that can lead to a long-term role in the discipline that fits you best. No prior insurance experience is required; just curiosity, reliability, and a strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cross-Functional Project Support
    • Team Support: Provide administrative and project support to delivery and client-facing teams across the firm, adapting to each team's priorities and ways of working.
    • Project Coordination: Help track project timelines, deliverables, and deadlines; schedule meetings; take notes and follow up on action items.
    • Documentation: Maintain organized, accurate project files, trackers, and shared resources so teams can find what they need quickly.
    • Deliverable Preparation: Assist in formatting and preparing documents, presentations, spreadsheets, and client deliverables to a professional standard.
  • Data & Research
    • Data Organization: Collect, enter, organize, and check data for internal projects and client work, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
    • Research Support: Conduct basic research using public and proprietary insurance resources to support team projects.
    • Quality Checks: Review documents and data for errors, formatting issues, and completeness before they move forward.
  • Learning & Development
    • Program Participation: Participate in structured learning experiences across departments to build your understanding of insurance products, regulation, filings, actuarial concepts, and consulting.
    • Skill Building: Take on progressively more complex assignments as you demonstrate readiness, with support and feedback from experienced team members.
    • Exploration: Work with your manager and team leaders to identify your strengths and interests and shape your development path.
    • Continuous Improvement: Share observations and ideas for improving processes, templates, and tools as you see how different teams work.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (completed or in progress) preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 0–2 years of professional experience; internships, part-time roles, or relevant coursework welcome.
  • Interest in insurance, finance, regulation, analytics, or consulting, and a genuine curiosity about how businesses work.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Outlook, with a willingness to learn new systems and tools.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle requests from multiple teams and prioritize effectively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication.
  • Adaptability and comfort moving between different teams, tasks, and types of work.
  • A proactive, coachable mindset: you ask good questions, take feedback well, and look for ways to contribute.
  • Dependability and discretion in handling confidential client and company information.

Benefits

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan options.
  • Generous, flexible paid time off (PTO).
  • Professional Development and growth opportunities.

Salary and Benefits

The base salary range for this position is $50–$60K. Final salary offer will be based on several factors, including commensurate experience, qualifications, and skills. Our salaries are complemented by bonus potential and an extensive benefits package designed to support your well-being and work-life balance.
