Role Description
You will be working on a 100% remote working model as part of Fidelity’s dynamic working arrangement. Please note that this is a contract role ending on August 31, 2027. Current work authorization for Canada is required for all openings.
The Translation Department is a small unit within the Products and Marketing Department that is responsible for providing translation, adaptation, editing, proofreading and other linguistic services to the Fidelity organization. The Translation Department translates all marketing, financial, advertising and other material for Fidelity's large Quebec-based clients.
The Translator’s role is to provide French translation, editing, proofreading and project management that maintain and strengthen the integrity of the Fidelity brand. The Translator also helps to proofread translations done internally and externally to ensure these meet Fidelity's stringent standards.
Key Accountabilities

Provide translation services for FCC in accordance with industry regulations and Fidelity’s high standards.

Integrate the translation function within the Marketing Operations to deliver quality material within the deadlines.

Review and provide approval with consultation with the Team Manager or the Manager for all French material with accuracy.

Negotiate timelines with internal partners with the help of the Team Manager or the Manager.

Review and proofread material translated by external and other internal resources to ensure quality.

Monitor quality and make decisions regarding terminology, language style and content in consultation with the Team Manager or Manager.

Conduct in-depth terminology research specific to the industry using various government and specialized sources.

Maintain and improve Fidelity’s internal terminology base and glossary.

Keep abreast of new terms and trends through French papers to ensure appropriate and quality-focused language.
Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of translation experience, preferably in the financial industry or a related industry.

Bachelor’s degree in Translation from a recognized institution or equivalent experience.

Strong communication skills in English and French.

Membership in a recognized professional association such as ATIO or OTTIAQ would be an asset.

Ability to translate in both languages with accuracy and appropriate style.

Strong organizational skills and ability to work with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Self-organization and self-management skills as well as ability to take initiative and work with minimal direction.

Proficient with machine translation software, including GlobalLink.

Participation in promotional videos for digital content is considered an asset.
