Role Description
The Editorial Intern will work alongside the Zonderkidz, DaySpring Kids, and Blink team to play a key role in helping steward children’s and young adult book projects at various stages of the publishing pipeline. They will assist with:

Book-related research
-
Editing book content
-
Preparing title information forms for internal reference

Proofreading typeset content
-
Providing input on prospective future projects
-
Engaging in other tasks as they arise
Qualifications
-
Available to work in a full-time capacity in 2027 or 2028
-
Open to rising seniors, recent graduates, master’s students, or entry-level candidates with up to 1 year of work experience

Available to work 28 hours per week, Monday through Thursday

Compensation is $18 per hour

Authorized to work in the United States

Ideal candidates are currently enrolled in or have recently graduated from an undergraduate or master’s program

Competent in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Teams
-
Strong knowledge of the English language and grammar
-
Strong project management and organizational skills

Able to work independently
-
Preferred candidates have copyediting and proofreading experience
-
A passion for books is highly valued
Requirements
-
Become familiar with the Zonderkidz, DaySpring Kids, and Blink production processes
-
Become familiar with The Chicago Manual of Style and The Christian Writer’s Manual of Style
-
Learn the various types of children’s books (e.g., board books, picture books, middle grade, young adult)
-
Learn and practice various kinds of editorial work, including content editing, copyediting, content proofreading, and typesetting proofreading
-
Prepare title information forms for internal use
-
Assist with book-related research
-
Provide input on prospective manuscripts and projects
-
Attend team meetings, editorial boards, title alignment meetings, and production meetings
