[Hiring] Newswriter @Datassential

Role Description

Working as an independent contractor, the Newswriter will support Datassential’s News content offering by helping to produce and refine unique news and insights that leverage Datassential’s product suite.

• Produce clean and succinct news articles that meet the needs of various client personas on a daily basis.
• Generate story ideas and draft copy for publication for clients.
• Identify and leverage opportunities to mine compelling insights from Datassential’s unique, proprietary research and analytics tools.
• Collaborate closely and productively with Datassential’s Publications/Content Team and other internal groups.
• Develop subject matter expertise in the food and beverage industry and maintain real-time awareness of industry news topics.
• Assist in leveraging automation to streamline editorial workflows.

Qualifications

• At least some news writing or editing experience, preferably in a real-time, business-to-business, and/or industry-focused publishing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to produce and refine data-driven storytelling.
• Track record of developing subject-matter expertise in new areas rapidly.
• Comfortable collaborating in a cross-functional manner in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
• Experience or interest in leveraging automation technologies (NLG, NLP, LLMs, etc.) to drive efficiency and create value in editorial processes.

Requirements

• This is an independent contractor (freelance) position.
• Candidates are expected to have the basic equipment and services (computer, internet access) necessary to complete the responsibilities of the position.
• Payment for services is negotiable, depending on qualifications and experience, and is remitted on a monthly basis.
• This position is targeted for the Philippines, but applications from other countries/regions are welcome depending upon experience.
