Role Description

The Managing Editor for HME News, a portfolio of United Publications, is responsible for delivering industry news to the home medical equipment (HME) market through print and eMedia.

Responsibilities include:

• Covering assigned news beats
• Producing stories for weekly email newsletters and monthly print publication/digital edition
• Contributing to social media accounts
• Conducting phone and video interviews
• Occasional webcast and podcast hosting
• Posting stories, web updates, and videos to the website
• Managing a revolving group of industry guest writers
• Leading layout of the publication
• Managing story budget

Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience writing and reporting in a daily news setting
• Flair for writing and the desire to get the news first
• Demonstrated leadership qualities
• Strong work ethic
• Excellent copy-editing skills
• InDesign experience
• Business writing expertise and understanding of the HME market are a plus

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in journalism, English, or a closely related field is required
• Sitting for long amounts of time
• Using technology efficiently such as computers, phones, and miscellaneous office equipment
• Standing
