Role Description
This position will operate on a remote, freelance basis. Valnet Inc. is looking for a Security expert to write feature articles for the website MakeUseOf.com.
MUO is one of the largest technology publications on the web today. We aim to equip all readers, whether they’re newcomers to tech or seasoned veterans, with the tools they need to make the most of their technology.
We simplify complex topics into guides that anyone can understand, whether they’re looking for a list of great apps, need help fixing an issue, or want a product recommendation. Every article leaves the reader with something valuable to take away.
Some Security example articles include:
- 4 Reasons Amazon's Alexa+ Is a Privacy Nightmare
- A Popular Antivirus App Was Caught Selling Your Data: Here's How to Apply for a Refund
- If You've Downloaded Malware, Try These Fixes Before a Factory Reset
Expectations:
- Ability to consistently and reliably contribute (news and features) under tight deadlines.
- You will be assigned articles and have the ability to claim ideas; however, once you are comfortable with the content we publish on the site, we welcome you to pitch your own ideas.
- Stay up to date on the latest technology and security news and updates.
Qualifications
- Relevant experience in writing and editing
- Expert knowledge of one or more technology platforms, products, or apps
- Expert knowledge of VPN, antivirus/anti-malware, as well as online privacy and security
