Role Description
The Journeyman Editor position is responsible for communicating information, ideas, and instructions via visual drawings and schematics according to specifications set forth by the customer, in accordance with the customerโs illustration and graphic standards and procedures.

Provides services in editing, developing and sustaining illustrations using graphics software and delivery products in native file formats and pre-approved universal formats as required by the customer.
Responsibilities

Create engineering drawings as required using Computer Aided Design & Drafting (CADD) software tools.

Provide engineering drawing and solid model support as defined IAW Technical Data Package Process Guide, CGTO PG-85-00-240-A, MIL-STD-31000a, and ASME Y14 standards.

Upon delivery, the files shall include a native file format and a USCG approved universal file format.

Responsible for the editing, design, creation, and production of visual concepts for presentations and printed materials.

Collaborate with customers, product specialists, or communications staff to understand instructions and specifications and to organize the project accordingly.

Create illustrations to be used in technical and instructional manuals and other publications.

Create accurate exploded-view drawings for assembly and subassembly breakdown based on engineering blueprints.

Ensure the final project addresses the clientโs needs, deadlines, specifications, and budget.

Maintain accurate records to account for billable time and costs.

Use artistic judgment to select appropriate composition, design, and layout for each illustration.

Meet customer quality control requirements in a timely manner.

Utilize customer workflows from initial request through final delivery.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Must be able to perform duties independently and remotely as required.

Keep managers and supervisors apprised of their progress, ability to work well with others, adhere to contract requirements, and comply with company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
-
Must be a US citizen.

Associate degree and two years of work experience.
-
3 years of experience in Illustration and/or graphic design will waive educational requirements.

Experience showing good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Advanced level proficiency with editing, graphic and illustration applications.
-
Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test.
Requirements

Experience supporting a variety of USCG or DoD technical editing, design or illustration efforts.
