Role Description

USA TODAY is seeking a summer intern to join its Opinion team. This exciting opportunity involves fact-checking opinion columns and offers the chance to write opinion columns as well. This is a 10-week program, 40 hours per week. Hourly rate is $18.00.

• Fact-check opinion columns to ensure accuracy and credibility.
• Collaborate with the Opinion team to develop and write opinion columns.
• Conduct research to support opinion pieces.
• Engage with readers and respond to feedback on published columns.

Qualifications

• Strong interest in journalism and opinion writing.
• Excellent research and fact-checking skills.
• Ability to write clearly and persuasively.
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
